Largest cellphone in the world?

This adventurous man from China decided that the world needs yet another cellphone but what makes this one unique is that it’s probably the world’s largest cellphone ever built instead of going for the world’s smallest.

Although it doesn’t say much about the specifications of the cellphone — like if has a color display, if it’s dual band, tri-band or quad band. Or if it even has bluetooth or FM radio (heck, you can probably put a whole home theater into the thing if you wanted to).

Busy on the next version for my web sites

Ferrari World ChampionshipIt’s been more than a week since I’ve posted anything here and my other sites (www.javamidlet.com, www.ortigas.com and www.ayalamap.com). I’ve been focusing on my “coding hat” to create the next versions for the sites.

Aside from getting mobile versions for the web sites, I plan to add some other improvements on them. Here in my blog and also www.javamidlet.com for instance, I’d like to put in some changes to prepare them for the upcoming Wordpress version 2.5. And of course some other features that I need to make my life easier having to maintain several web sites.

All about the Philippines

My wife and I have just put up a couple of web sites focused on the Philippines. One of them is a blog about the different places in the Philippines which can be found at http://pinoi.com. The other is a web directory for Philippine related web sites located at http://pinoi.net.

If your web site is focused on the Philippines, you can submit your link at pinoi.net to be included in the directory. If you have a blog or a web site that is also focused on the Philippines, post me a comment and let’s talk some cooperation between our web sites. We would like to create a great site that tells the world about the Philippines and how great it is to visit and/or live in the Philippines.

Wireless stereo using the Motorola HT820 bluetooth headset

DSC00129One thing I don’t like having on my notebook is a lot of wires. Bluetooth technology has been a boon for me ‘coz it allows me to connect things to my notebook without all those wires. It may not be as fast as I want it to be but it’s available now and until wireless USB goes mainstream it’s the only thing available right now.

It comes complete with it’s own case plus a charger with several plug adaptors for probably every type of electric outlet available around the globe. It also comes with with a cable that allows you to connect the headset directly to your computer’s stereo output jack in case your headset ran out of juice which I doubt will ever happen.

I have always loved using my Motorola HT820 stereo bluetooth headset so I decided to write a post about it here. I think the price of the Motorola stereo bluetooth headset is about US$60 if you’re shopping for one right now and I tell you it’s a bargain at that price.

World’s First Powerless Air Cooler on a Mainboard

msi-powerless-heatsink-3Just got back from a great two week vacation and to start off I just read this article about the world’s first powerless (yup, it doesn’t use electricity on the heat sink fan) air cooler on motherboards. With all the thrust towards ECO friendly designs these days, this heat-powered design for heat sinks is a very “cool” idea.

MSI has actually created a heat sink cooling design that doesn’t use electricity for the fan. The fan is instead powered by the very heat generated by the CPU. Although it will probably score any points on power savings for you as an individual, think of how much power it can save if you consider the millions of computers on the planet.

Use your mind to control your games

It looks like we are one step closer to using our brains to directly control the games that we play. If this product / contraption gets widely accepted, we may be looking at the reality sooner than we think. Imagine how fast we would be able to react to game stimuli and no more strain on our hands.
