Windows Mobile running on Nokia mobile phone
Can you imagine, who would have thought that a Nokia mobile phone running Windows Mobile as the operating system?
Recent news has been spreading on the Internet about the talks between Nokia and Microsoft on the possibility of using Windows Mobile on Nokia handsets.

Nokia has about 40% world wide market share. If we put the total mobile phones in the use around the globe at 3 billion, then 1.2 billion of those cell phones are Nokia. Nokia is also the majority owner of the Symbian operating system that is used on Nokia handsets. Symbian is also used by Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Lenovo, LG and Samsung.
Windows Mobile on the other hand runs on I-mate, HTC, Asus to name a few. It makes sense for Microsoft to talk with Nokia to convince them to create handsets that use the Windows Mobile OS. Personally I would like to see HTC and I-mate running Symbian or maybe Linux ( I would really love to see HTC’s Ultimate 9502 running Google’s Android perhaps
).
We already know that Palm sells cell phones that use the Windows Mobile operating system besides their own PalmOS, will Nokia follow suite? I don’t see any motivation right now for Nokia to do so except to increase its mobile phone sales.
What do you think?
