Texas Instruments to demo Android phone

Valentines at WMCTexas Instruments, one of the members of the Open Handset Alliance, has announced at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona that they will demonstrate an early look of the Android mobile platform in two forms.

The first form of the demonstration is a prototype handset based on Texas Instrument’s OMAP850 processor that also includes TI’s Wireless LAN (WLAN) and Bluetooth® wireless technology solutions. The second form uses the OMAP3430 processor-based Zoom Mobile Development Kit from Logic PD. Using TI’s WiLinkTM WLAN and BlueLinkTM Bluetooth technology, the Android mobile platform features integrated connectivity options that allow consumers to seamlessly connect to interactive applications.
