The Nokia N96 mobile phone announced
Nokia today unveiled the Nokia N96 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The N96 is a multimedia computer geared for both video and TV and has the newest technology that addresses the convergence of the Internet and the mobile world.
The N96 has a dual-slide design similar to its predecessor the N95. Sporting a large 2.8″ screen and QVGA resolution, the Nokia N96 has 16 gigabytes of internal memory and can further be expanded with a microSD card. It has support for high-quality videos in a wide range of formats which includes MPEG-4, Windows Media Video and Flash Video.
It has an integrated DVB-H receiver offers live broadcast TV with an automatically updating program guide. For a superb music experience, the Nokia N96 features media keys, a 3.5 mm headphone connector and built-in 3D stereo speakers.
The Nokia N96 boasts a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash and video light. It allows DVD-like quality video capture at 30 frames per second.
Further, with the integrated A-GPS, consumers can now ‘geotag’ their pictures with location data and share them with their online communities. It offers several methods of connection that include high-speed USB 2.0 connection, WLAN and HSDPA.
The Nokia N96 multimedia mobile phone is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2008.
